The objective is precisely to create a connection not only physical with the rest of the world, but also mental, or to bring a reference area of the world and the Middle East closer to what is the Western mentality to create a tangible cultural and ideological bridge.
This is also why the "heart" of Expo 2020 Dubai - which is rising halfway between Abu Dhabi and Dubai and adjacent to the new Al Maktoum international airport - will have a highly iconic meaning. Everything will refer to the futuristic structure called Al Wasl Plaza, which recalls not only one of the ancient names with which it was called Dubai, but also and above all its meaning: Al Wasl in Arabic means its own meeting point. It is here, in the middle of an area of 438 hectares (the double of Expo 2010 Milan) in Dubai South Disctrict, that the enormous dome is taking shape, destined to fulfill the same function as the Tree of Life at Expo 2010 Milan. The large exhibition area of Expo Dubai 2020 will also be the site of the Italian Pavilion, inspired by the theme statement "Beauty unites people", an idea developed to affirm how Italian skills, talents and talent can promote new educational, entrepreneurial and professional opportunities.
